Procedure
Day1
1. Telling Story
What makes Zheng Yang’s journey most compelling is the stark contrast he embodies. How did a photographer with a cochlear implant manage to get so many celebrities to pose for his portraits?
Zheng Yang will share his story, focusing on:
1. How he found self-acceptance, and the challenges he faced after losing his hearing.
2. How he was inspired and motivated by Mu Xin.
3. Unforgettable stories from his unique experiences photographing celebrities.
2. Critique Of SDG Photography
Each year, Daystar Academy holds an SDG Photography Exhibition, showcasing student photography that reflects their observations and reflections on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Zheng Yang is also a long-time advocate for charity. At the event, he will provide professional critique of Daystar students' SDG photography.
3. Antique Camera Exhibition
Zheng Yang has collected more than 200 antique cameras, the oldest dating back to the 1880s. He will display 20 of them at the lecture. These cameras are well-preserved and in excellent condition; most of them still function to this day.
According to Zheng Yang, "To me, old cameras represent the painstaking efforts of those who came before us. They deserve to be revisited, respected, and cherished. By collecting these cameras, I hope to pass on an appreciation for the deeper charm that photography brings through the concept of showcasing culture through images."
4. Showcase of "Parisians"
At the event, you will also get a glimpse of some of Zheng Yang’s works from the "Parisians" series, which he shot for the China-France 60th anniversary commemorative exhibition. Zheng Yang will also be available to sign bookmarks of his photography for guests.
