云肩最早见于敦煌隋代壁画，已经中国化的观音菩萨身披云肩。云肩也叫披肩，多以丝缎织锦制作，大多数云肩用四个云纹组成，叫四合如意式，还有柳叶式、荷花式等等，上面都有吉祥命题，例如富贵牡丹、多福多寿、连年有鱼等等。这一中国传统服饰的瑰宝，以其独特的样式和深厚的文化内涵，吸引着无数的目光。
The earliest cloud shoulders were seen in the Dunhuang murals from the Sui Dynasty, where the sinicized Guanyin Bodhisattva wore them. Cloud shoulders, also known as shawls, are mostly made of silk and brocade. Most cloud shoulders are composed of four cloud patterns, called the "four-harmony ruyi" style, with other styles including willow leaf and lotus flower. They often feature auspicious motifs such as peonies symbolizing wealth, blessings for longevity, and fish representing continuous surplus. This treasure of traditional Chinese clothing, with its unique style and rich cultural connotation, attracts countless admirers.
