1. tailor/'teɪlə/
v.按需定制;量身打造
搭配：tailor ...to ...根据...定制
Individual classes allow teachers to tailor their lessons to each student’s needs.
One of the biggest advantages of individual classes is that the content and pace can be tailored to the student.
补充：pace n.节奏
adj.tailored 量身定制的
syn：personalized 定制的;个性化的
We provide tailored lessons to help students overcome their weaknesses.
One major advantage of one-on-one classes is that teachers can create personalized learning plans for individual students.

2. a jack of all trades
多面手；什么都会一点的人,技能广泛的人
e.g. In a small company, it's useful to be a jack of all trades because employees often have to handle different responsibilities.
e.g.If you want to run your own business, it helps to be a jack of all trades because you may not have enough money to hire specialists for every task.
补充：specialist 专业人员，专家
区别：
A jack of all trades 强调技能多且广泛，偏褒义
a know-it-all 强调自以为是，认为自己无所不知, 带有贬义
e.g. He's such a know-it-all. He always acts as if he's the smartest person in the room.
E.g. A know-it-all attitude can make it difficult to build good relationships.
3. trial and error
反复试验；不断尝试并从错误中学习
搭配：learn through trial and error 通过反复尝试来学习
e.g. Children can develop problem-solving skills through trial and error rather than relying on adults to give them all the answers.
E.g.When people start a new job, they may have to figure things out through trial and error.
类似：learn by doing 在实践中学习
e.g. Schools should provide more opportunities for learning by doing so that students can put theory into practice instead of just preparing for exams.

4. plateau/'plætəʊ/
n. 活动或进程中的稳定阶段，停滞时期
搭配：hit/reach a plateau 遇到瓶颈期
overcome / break through a plateau突破瓶颈期
e.g. After making rapid progress at first, learners may hit a plateau and find it difficult to improve further.
e.g. After several years of rapid growth, the company is now at a plateau.
v.达到稳定时期；进入停滞状态
e.g. My English progress has plateaued.
e.g.If you keep using the same learning methods, your progress may eventually plateau.
