谈及西方国家领导人为何密集访华，英国广播公司记者劳拉·比克近日在电视节目中说，这是因为“中国不搞西方拉帮结派那一套，不需要其他国家表忠心，不需要其他国家采纳其意识形态。”
A wave of high-level visits to China by leaders from several Western countries has drawn widespread attention in the global public discourse.
BBC journalist Laura Bicker said in a recent television program that "China doesn't see alliances in the same way perhaps that the West does. It doesn't demand fealty. It doesn't demand you adopt its ideology."
比克认为，中国是在向相关国家传递明确信号——“我在这里，愿意合作，也可以坐下来商议”。与强调阵营和同盟不同，中国在很多方面更倾向于以务实、交易式的方式发展对外关系，并未要求任何商业伙伴在中国和美国之间选边站。不过，她也提到，美国总统特朗普似乎对这一点表现出格外敏感的态度。
Bicker said China is telling these countries, "Look, I'm here. I will offer you a deal. We'll sit down and negotiate," and is not asking business partners to choose between China and the United States. She added that Donald Trump "does seem to have an issue with some of this".
