1月7日，张大爷回应走红，表示自己也不知道怎么就火了。张大爷称照片是去年10月底拍的，今年跨年开始，这组照片突然就火了。自己现在也没有什么特别的感觉，当时拍照片，也只是因为到了那里，就让旅行团里的其他人帮忙顺手拍了，也没找角度，立刻就发了，自己也不会美颜，不会加滤镜，算是现拍现发。
On Wednesday, the tourist, surnamed Zhang, addressed his unexpected fame, expressing surprise at the photos' sudden virality. He clarified that the pictures were taken in late October during a group tour, but only gained massive traction around the New Year. "I really don't have any special feelings about it," Zhang said. "I was just there, so I asked someone from the tour to quickly take a few photos for me. I didn't bother with angles or lighting and posted them right away. I don't know how to use beauty filters or editing apps — what you see is exactly what was taken."
另据封面新闻，1月7日下午，当事大爷和旅行社工作人员开直播，称巴黎还是很美的，只是拍摄当天在下雨，老年人不会构图、修图等。
According to Cover News, Zhang and a representative from the travel agency held a livestream later on Wednesday. They emphasized that Paris is indeed beautiful, but explained that the photos were taken on a rainy day, and Zhang, as an older traveler, did not focus on advanced composition or post-processing techniques.
据介绍，大爷是11月6日回国，报的老年团参加了德国、法国、意大利等欧洲六国旅行，全程12天，团里40多个人。
