1月5日，年代剧《小城大事》正式官宣定档，将于1月10日起登陆中央电视台电视剧频道，并在腾讯视频全网独播。

Xiao Cheng Da Shi(or Small Town, Big Story ), is set to premiere on China Central Television (CCTV) on Jan 10, marking her last on-screen appearance following her death at the age of 51.

In the drama, Zhu plays Gao Xuemei, a woman who leads rural embroidery workers to start businesses and helps farmers transition into urban residents. Filming for the series wrapped on May 1, 2025, during Zhu's battle with cancer. She passed away on May 17, just weeks later.

The National Theatre of China announced on May 21, 2025, that Zhu died at 11:39 am on May 17 after unsuccessful medical treatment.
《小城大事》（原名《造城者》）是朱媛媛在抗癌期间坚持完成拍摄的。这是她生前完成的最后一部作品，也将成为她的荧屏遗作。
该剧根据朱晓军报告文学《中国农民城》改编，以温州龙港农民造城为原型，主要讲述了20世纪80年代初，平川县为了加快发展，决定设立“月海镇”。干部李秋萍（赵丽颖 饰）与郑德诚（黄晓明 饰）带领成千上万的农民，在没用国家一分钱的情况下，以“集资、合伙”的创举，在滩涂之上建起一座现代化的城市……

2019年8月，经国务院批准，撤销苍南县龙港镇，设立县级龙港市，龙港市由浙江省直辖，温州市代管，是全国第一个“镇改市”。
