The Chinese Scientific expedition team, which was conducting scientific research on the Purog Kangri Glacier, drilled an ice core with a length of 324 meters on Glacier No. 10, setting a new record for the longest ice core in global mid-low latitude glaciers. The drilling operation started on October 16th and took about eight days. This also means that the Purog Kangri Glacier will become a new key area for future scientific expeditions in the study of climate and environmental changes in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and even globally.
