Cloisonné is a famous handicraft in China. Ancient cloisonné crafts are also known as enamelware, enjoying high prestige both domestically and internationally. Cloisonné originated in the Yuan Dynasty and flourished during the Jingtai period of the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of six hundred years. It became a sophisticated art piece prevalent in imperial palaces, possessing high appreciation value, collectible value, and decorative effects.
景泰蓝诞生于皇宫,因其在明朝景泰年间盛行,制作技艺比较成熟,使用的珐琅釉多以蓝色为主,故得此名。景泰蓝工艺几经波折,在一代才女林徽因等人的保护下才得以恢复。如今,景泰蓝作品不仅作为“国礼”,也逐渐受到人们的喜爱。
