Vibrant and warm Spring Festival in WND
During the Spring Festival, folk activities in Meicun Ancient town such as Wuxi Opera, boating performances and molten iron firework shows attracted flocks of visitors, driving the recovery of local tourism. Meanwhile, the mobile medical service vehicle launched by WND also provided fast and convenient services for people with medical needs during the festival, injecting some warmth into this cold season.
春节假期里，梅里古镇的锡剧、游船表演、非遗打铁花等丰富的年俗活动吸引了不少市民，也带动了春节期间旅游经济的复苏。同时，新吴区推出的“移动医疗服务车”也为春节期间有医疗需求的市民提供了最快速便捷的服务，在寒冷的季节带来了人情的暖意。

新吴区消费增长迎来新春“开门红”
WND off to a flying start in boosting consumption
Consumption in WND showed strong signs of recovery during the Spring Festival, as the district held online and offline consumption promotion activities, and issued 5-million-yuan-worth of consumption coupons ($738,000 ), getting the area off to a flying start in the new year.
During the Spring Festival golden week, the cumulative sales of 7 sample retail and catering enterprises monitored by WND’s commerce department was 75.12 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.2 percent.
春节期间，新吴区打通线上线下消费场景，开展各种促消费活动，发放了500万元消费券，使全区消费市场强劲复苏，消费增长迎来新春“开门红”。春节黄金周，区商务部门监测的7家零售餐饮样本企业累计销售额7512万元，同比增长8.2%。

泰伯公祭祖典礼在梅村举行
Ancestor worship ceremony commemorating Taibo held in Meicun neighborhood
An ancestor worship ceremony was held at Taibo Temple in WND’s Meicun neighborhood on Jan 29 to commemorate Wu Taibo, the ancestor of the area south of the Yangtze River.
Taibo's birthday falls on the ninth day of the first lunar month, and this year is his 3,307th birthday. Descendants of the Wu family from different regions gathered at the temple to worship their ancestors in accordance with ancient rituals. Through etiquette practice, people can experience local ritual customs, enhance their understanding of the local humanistic spirit and inspire a sense of belonging to their hometown.
1月29日，纪念江南始祖泰伯公的祭祖典礼在泰伯庙举行。每年的正月初九是泰伯诞辰，今年已经是3307周年。跨越不同地区的吴氏后裔齐聚在泰伯庙前，按照古祭流程进行祭祖典礼。吴地百姓以亲身的礼仪实践，体会吴地祭典风俗，增加对当地人文精神的感触，激发他们热爱家乡的深厚情怀。

“无锡新春海外招商第一团”，启程赴欧！
WND to invite investment in Europe
WND’s business delegation to attract overseas investment departed for Europe on Jan 30.
Over the following 10 days, the delegation members will visit 10 cities in three countries, including Barcelona, Brussels, and Dusseldorf, to explore cooperation opportunities with more than 20 high-tech enterprises, research institutes, as well as innovation platforms.
This trip will also promote the operation of three innovation centers in Europe – Wuxi National Software Park (Belgium) Innovation Center, Wuxi National Software Park (Germany) Innovation Center, and Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Campus · TUS Belgium Joint Innovation Center.
1月30日，无锡高新区境外招商团队再度启程，赶赴欧洲“敲门”招商。
10天时间里，他们将在西班牙巴塞罗那，比利时布鲁塞尔，德国杜塞尔多夫、慕尼黑等3国10城马不停蹄开展招商行动，与欧洲高科技企业、高水平科研机构、知名创新功能平台合作，深度链接全球创新资源。
此次出访还将推动科技园区三大创新中心落地，分别是无锡国家软件园（比利时）创新中心、无锡国家软件园（德国）创新中心、无锡国际生命科学创新园—启迪比利时联合创新中心，并与纽伦堡医谷缔结“姊妹园”。

高新区代表团赴欧参加第七届世界物联网大会
WND’s delegation attends 7th WIOTC in Europe
The 7th World Internet of Things Convention, one of the most high-profile conferences in the industry, kicked off in Barcelona on Jan 31 local time.
WND’s European Science and Technology Economic and Trade Delegation participated in the opening ceremony, held discussions with the Organizing Committee of the Barcelona World Internet of Things Convention, and negotiated with 4 participating European companies planning to develop their business in China.
当地时间1月31日，作为行业内最受瞩目的大会之一，第七届世界物联网大会在巴塞罗那拉开帷幕。无锡高新区欧洲科技经贸出访代表团参加开幕式，与巴塞罗那世界物联网大会组委会进行了座谈交流，和4家有计划在中国发展的欧洲参会企业对接洽谈，演绎物联网“双城记”。

欧洲最大医学中心实验室落户无锡高新区
Europe’s largest central medical lab to be built in WND
Cerba Research Institute, the largest central medical laboratory in Europe, and Wuxi Teddy Clinical Research Laboratory from WND held a signing ceremony in Belgium on Feb 2 local time.
The two parties will establish a joint venture company to invest in the construction of the world’s top central medical laboratory in the Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Campus, with a total investment of $100 million.
当地时间2月2日，欧洲最大医学中心实验室Cerba研究院与无锡观合医学在比利时举行合作签约仪式。本次签约后，两家公司将成立合资公司，在无锡国际生命科学创新园投资建设全球顶尖的医学中心实验室，总投资1亿美元。
