近日，卡塔尔世界杯期间，“半自动越位识别”系统在小组赛C组首轮比赛中，上半场两次吹掉了阿根廷的进球，引发广泛关注。这是“半自动越位识别”技术首次被应用于世界杯舞台。
什么是“半自动越位识别”系统？
“半自动越位识别” （Semi-Automated Offside Technology, SAOT）由两个方面构成：一是在足球内部安装了一个传感器，该传感器会以每秒500次的频率向外界传送数据，以此让系统能够实时确定足球的精确位置。
This sensor, positioned in the centre of the ball, sends ball data to the video operation room 500 times per second, allowing a very precise detection of the kick point.
此外，该系统还包含了安装在球场内的12个跟踪摄像头，不仅可以监控足球的位置，也可以通过追踪每名球员身上的29个点，来确定每名球员的实时位置，这些摄像头也会以每秒50次的频率传送数据。
The new technology uses 12 dedicated tracking cameras mounted underneath the roof of the stadium to track the ball and up to 29 data points of each individual player, 50 times per second, calculating their exact position on the pitch.
相比传统“视频助理裁判” （VAR）用视频慢动作回放来辨别越位与否，SAOT系统在科技含量上更进一步，已经有能力做到不借助人工的帮助，就能精确判断球员越位与否。
国际足联也期待这一新技术可以让越位判罚更加准确，更加迅速。据测算，该技术可以将越位判罚的平均耗时从70秒减少到25秒钟。
此外，SAOT在做出判罚之后，系统还会自动生成一幅三维图像，展示足球与相关球员的位置状况，这幅图像可以被展示给所有现场和收看比赛转播的观众。
不过正如这套系统名称中的“半自动”所言，该系统也并非完全摒弃了人工的介入，依然需要人力的参与。
虽然SAOT会在监测到越位情况时通知视频助理裁判，但最终是否做出判罚，决定权仍然在赛场裁判的手中。
高科技手段让足球更加透明
在2021年于卡塔尔举办的阿拉伯杯比赛上，“半自动越位识别”已被投入使用，随后又被引进了欧洲超级杯和欧冠比赛。
不过这项技术被正式应用到世界杯赛场，还是足坛历史上的第一次。
对于这项新技术，足坛相关人士都抱持着积极的期待。
国际足联主席因凡蒂诺（Gianni Infantino）表示，这项技术是三年专门研究和测试的结晶，旨在为卡塔尔世界杯提供最好的支持。国际足联致力于利用技术改善各个级别的足球比赛，而在2022年世界杯上使用“半自动越位识别”技术是最直接的体现。
"This technology is the culmination of three years of dedicated research and testing to provide the very best for the teams, players and fans who will be heading to Qatar later this year…FIFA is committed to harnessing technology to improve the game of football at all levels, and the use of semi-automated offside technology at the FIFA World Cup in 2022 is the clearest possible evidence."
欧足联裁判总监罗塞蒂曾表示：“这套越位识别体系，能够帮助VAR团队更快更准确地识别越位与否，这对于保证比赛的连贯性、判罚的稳定性很有益处。”
"This innovative system will allow VAR teams to determine offside situations quickly and more accurately, enhancing the flow of the game and the consistency of the decisions."
国际足联裁判委员会主席科里纳也认为：“国际足联将继续应用科技手段来辅助裁判员，让足球更加公平、更加透明。SAOT将更快、更精确，并且也能够与观众之间产生更好的连接。”
"(It) gives us the possibility to be faster and more accurate in terms of decisions about offside," Collina told reporters in a briefing ahead of the tournament.
在世界杯这样一个全球聚焦的赛场，新的技术是否能够经受住考验，还需在实际应用中去证明。
