专家们担心，随着格陵兰岛的冰川融化，人们争先恐后地开发矿产资源，格陵兰岛的自然环境很可能受到威胁。
科学家们对于海平面上升的问题也颇感担忧。
"The northern melt this past week is not normal, looking at 30 to 40 years of climate averages," said Ted Scambos, a senior research scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado. 如果格陵兰岛的冰雪全部融化，全球海平面将会上升7.5米。
Each summer, scientists worry that they will see a repeat of the record melting that occurred in 2019, when 532 billion tons of ice flowed out into the sea.
