Hardliner Ebrahim Raisi has won Iran's presidential election in a race that was widely seen as being designed to favour him.
He thanked Iranians for their support, after securing 62% of the votes.
Mr Raisi is Iran's top judge and holds ultra-conservative views. He is under US sanctions and has been linked to past executions of political prisoners.
Iran's president is the second-highest ranking official in the country, after the supreme leader.

Pope Francis has put French statesman Robert Schuman, one of the founders of modern Europe, on the path to sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church.
The Vatican said the Pope approved a decree recognising Schuman's "heroic virtues", an early stage of the long process that can lead to canonisation.
One miracle would have to be attributed to Schuman for him to be beatified and then another for him to become a saint.
Schuman, who died in 1963, was key in creating today's European institutions.
教皇弗朗西斯已将法国政治家罗伯特舒曼（现代欧洲的创始人之一）置于罗马天主教会的圣徒之路上。

A reveller had his hand blown off as hundreds of police attempted to break up an illegal rave in western France, officials said.
About 1,500 people were at the rave at a horse racing track near the town of Redon.
There were "very violent clashes" lasting seven hours after police intervened, the local prefect said. Five police officers were injured.
Authorities and partygoers blamed each other for the violence.

German police have issued an appeal for information after two valuable 17th Century paintings were discovered dumped in a road-side skip.
The oil paintings are believed to be by Dutch artist Samuel van Hoogstraten and Italian Pietro Bellotti, police said.
A man found the paintings at a motorway service station on the A7 south of Würzburg in Bavaria last month.
He handed them in to police in the city of Cologne. No one has yet claimed the artworks.

One of India's greatest athletes, Milkha Singh, has died from Covid-related complications, aged 91.
Popularly known as "the Flying Sikh", Singh won four Asian gold medals and finished fourth in the 400m final at the 1960 Rome Olympics.
In 2013, his story was turned into the Bollywood film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag - Run Milkha Run.
Singh's wife, Nirmal Kaur, a former volleyball captain, also died with Covid earlier this week, aged 85.
印度最伟大的运动员之一米尔哈·辛格 (Milkha Singh) 死于与新冠病毒相关的并发症，享年 91 岁。
