1、Marianne's abilities were in many respects quite equal to Elinor's. She was sensible and clever; but eager in everything; her sorrows, her Joys, could have no moderation. She was generous, amiable, interesting; she was everything but prudent. The resemblance between her and her mother was strikingly great.

2、The situation of the house was good. High hills rose immediately behind and at no great distance on each side, some of which were open downs, the others cultivated and woody. The village of Barton was chiefly on one of these hills, and formed a pleasant view from the cottage windows. The prospect in front was more extensive; it commanded the whole of the valley, and reached into the country beyond. The hills which surrounded the cottage terminated the valley in that direction; under another name, and in another course, it branched out again between two of the steepest of them.

She had no such object for her lingering thoughts to fix on; she left no creature behind from whom it would give her a moment's regret to be divided forever; she was pleased to be free herself from the persecution of Lucy's friendship; she was grateful for bringing her sister away unseen by Willoughby since his marriage; and she looked forward with hope to what a few months of tranquility at Barton might do towards restoring Marianne's peace of mind and confirming her own.

4、Nothing was wanting on Mrs. Palmer's side that constant and friendly good humour could do to make them feel themselves welcome. The openness and heartiness of her manner more than atoned for that want of recollection and elegance which made her often deficient in the forms of politeness; her kindness, recommended by so pretty a face, was engaging; her folly, though evident was, not disgusting because it was not conceited; and Elinor could have forgiven everything but her laugh.

5、Edward face a red, I don't know what was said thickly. Elinor just moved his lips as the mother, at the same time, hope herself can shake hands with him, but already too late, she had to be honest, sat down and talked about the weather with him.
爱德华脸色一红，含含糊糊地不知说了些什么。艾利洛仅仅随着母亲动了动嘴唇，同时希望自己也可以和他握握手，可已来不及了，她只好坦诚相待，重新坐下，与他谈起了天气。
