安省公立学校网上教学质量提升请愿书
To: 安省教育厅及下属各公立教育局
由于COVID-19疫情，安省教育厅下属的各公立学校自2020年3月起关闭并改为“网上教学”。至今的三个月时间内，学生们和家长们对公立学校提供的“网上教学”感到不是很满意，主要表现在没有系统的在线学习教材，同时在线教学时间和作业量等都没有保证。
我们理解目前无法准确预测下学期的学校教学方式。但教育是长期的、连续的，本学期没有扎实学到手的知识，势必会影响下学期后续课程的深入学习。为此我们吁请教育厅及下属各教育局，抓紧开学前的宝贵时间，制定并完善“网上教学”的规则和执行标准，使下学期的“网上教学”能取得更好的效果。我们希望能落实如下几点：
1，积极完善录播网课体系，包括系统性开发更多录播课程，以及把老师直播网课内容录像保存。这些录播资料，都将做为教育厅的战略储备资源，长远来看可以协助应对日后的不时之需。
2，下学期开学各学校需要有明确的课程表。在教学时长，作业量和测评考核量等方面都不低于疫情前正常线下教学时的标准。
3，在暑假期间加强对老师们的网络教学等技术培训。提高各学校的网络设备级别。
孩子不仅是我们家庭的希望，更是我们国家的未来！我们期待上述请求可以得到教育厅及各教育局老师们的关注和落实。非常感谢！
Ontario Public School Online Education ImprovementPetition
To: Ontario Ministry of Education and all its schoolboards
All public schools in Ontario have beenclosed since March 13, 2020. Over the past three months, many students andparents are very underwhelmed by their online learning experiences, mainly dueto the lack of systematic online learning materials, and no clear and explicitexpectations for ‘online teaching’.
Given this, we strongly urge the Ministryof Education and the school boards to formulate a set of online teachingprotocols that can be implemented across all Ontario public schools tosafeguard the quality of online learning for the upcoming school year.Specifically, we ask the Ministry to address the following requests fromparents and students in formulating such protocols:
· Developa comprehensive online instruction and recording system, where teacher-ledreal-time online instruction and recordings are made available to students.This will help achieve optimal learning results and improve the province’sstance in implementing online education in a long run
· Requireall public schools to prepare a detailed online teaching plan, including dailynumber of hours dedicated to real-time online teaching, amount of homework foreach grade and learning assessment plan. Expectations on these componentsshould be at a similar level to those from prior to the lockdown.
· Provideschools with required online teaching software and relevant training during thesummer break to better enable teachers in delivering online teaching whenschool restarts
We trust the Ministry of Education andschool boards understand our concern and take the students’ learning seriously.Therefore, we urge the Ministry and school boards to take immediate action andensure students have a more fruitful online learning experience in the fall!
正向沟通的渠道
6月24日晚上7点，通过105.9FM多伦多华语电台的专家论坛节目采访了家长，安省省议员彭锦威，以及本次请愿活动的发起人之一，著名的公立高中华人教师傅雁老师，就疫情下的学校及秋季开学问题展开讨论。
傅雁老师转达彭议员声音：我们需要跟自己所在地区的教委委员沟通，让她/他听到家长们的声音。这个建议非常好，每个人在不同的角度看问题，各有各的观点，所以沟通是最重要的！
各学校所属的地区的教委委员是大家选出来代表家长们的。所以我们一定要把我们的建议和意见递交给学校，递交给本区的教育委员，请教委们把家长们的声音传递给教育局，一起帮助教育局去做决定。
