else 和 other
共同点：一是含义基本相同，“别的，其他的”；二是都可以作定语。
不同点：一是词性不同；二是被修饰的词不同；三是与被修饰词的位置关系不同。
1.else
else 是个副词，常见的用法是：
一是只用来修饰两类词；
二是必须放在被修饰词的后面。
（1）else修饰不定代词和不定副词(some/any/no/every+one/body/thing/where)
例如：
Would you like something else to drink? 你还要喝点别的什么吗？
Is there anything else in your bag?你的包里还有什么别的东西吗？
Nobodyelsecouldanswer the question.没有别人能回答这个问题。
Asksomebodyelsetohelpyou.请别人帮帮你吧。
We went to the park and nowhere else. 我们到公园去了，其它什么地方也没去。
Let's gosomewhereelse.我们去别的地方吧。
（2）else修饰疑问代词(who，which，what等)和疑问副词(when，where等)。
例如：
Whoelsewillgotothemeeting?还有谁要参加会议？
Whatelsedo youwant?你还需要其他的什么吗？
Whereelsedo youwant to go?你还要去别的地方吗？
2.other
形容词，修饰名词或代词，用在名词或代词之前。
例如：
Do you have any other questions?你还有其它问题吗？
Lily alone has come, all the other girls are late. 只有丽丽来，别的女孩都迟到了。
I have two pens. One is red, the other one is blue.我有两支钢笔，一支是红色的，另一支是蓝色的。
3.else和other的所有格不同
如果是other+名词结构的所有格，正常在名词为变所有格即可；如果是不定代词/疑问代词+else结构的所有格，要在else的词尾变所有格。
例如：
other students' books （别的学生的书）
other people's wallet （别人的钱包）
someone else's phone （别的某人的手机）
再如：
-Whose bag is it？
-It's nobody else's. It's just mine.
-这是谁的包？-不是别人的，正好是我的。
