词典里对send a message的解释是：

所以，send a message相当于send a signal，有两方面的意思：

A发送一个信号、暗号去“暗示”B

A“向B表面态度，立场”

这两种动作都是期待B有所改变。（这种“暗示, 表明态度...”往往是隐晦的，不直接的。）

例如：

表达“发信息”，一定要记得“人”：send+人+ a message

口语中，“发微信”更为常用的表达为：Just shoot me a message on WeChat，即“微信上给发我信息”吧。
