二十一世纪的第二个十年马上就要和我们告别，感慨时光飞逝的同时，不由得也会在这个特殊的时间点对过去十年做个回顾。
一年一度的英国女王圣诞致辞如约而至。节日当天凌晨，王室便在社交媒体上发布了女王从2010至2019年的致辞定妆照，来了一波“回忆杀”。

从2019年的演讲照片中可以看到，桌上放着女王父亲乔治六世的单人照，威廉凯特夫妇与他们三名子女的家庭照，查尔斯和卡米拉的合照，以及菲利普亲王的单人照。
今年是伊丽莎白二世女王第68次进行圣诞致辞。对于王室来说，过去的一年过得并不平稳。
年初，菲利普亲王自驾撞人后，未及时道歉而受到批评；安德鲁王子卷入爱泼斯坦性丑闻事件，并且暂停履行王室公务；哈里夫妇多次坐私人飞机出行挨批；威廉和哈里两位王子不和的消息不时传出；圣诞节前夕，菲利普亲王还被媒体拍到前往医院，直到平安夜才出院。
对于英国来说，过去的一年换了首相，发动了大选，卡着圣诞节倒计时通过了首相约翰逊的“脱欧”协议，然而这一切只是真正推进“脱欧”的开始，与欧盟的分手之路依旧充满博弈和变数。
于是，今年女王的圣诞致辞受到格外关注。大家纷纷猜测，身处这“坎坷”（bumpy）的一年，女王将要如何回顾过去，展望下一个十年呢？

As a child, I never imagined that one day a man would walk on the moon. Yet this year we marked the 50th anniversary of the famous Apollo 11 mission.

Since the end of the Second World War, many charities, groups and organisations have worked to promote peace and unity around the world, bringing together those who have been on opposing sides.

And, as we all look forward to the start of a new decade, it's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.
这适时提醒着人们，当我们放下过去的分歧，秉着友谊与和解的精神团结在一起时，能够取得非常积极的成就。同时，当我们展望下一个十年时，值得铭记的是，能够带来最持久改变的不是大步的跃进，而是小步的积累。
