The hostel is located in Dajianpang Village, Shuanglang Town, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, hidden in a small bay of Erhai Lake. It consists of two separate courtyards, which are connected by an alley. Each yard has its own unique charm and advantages. As an "early bird" in the Shuanglang area, the former people's host once seized the opportunity of tourism and opened homestays on two properties belonging to different landlords. However, with the passage of time and changes in the external environment, the once glorious B&B began to face a series of challenges that hindered its development into a more refined resort hotel.
新民宿的名字“陶唐之丘”灵感来自《山海经》，居九丘之中心的说法。所谓九丘之中心也就是大荒四经的中心观测点，得名于帝尧陶唐氏。蕴含着深厚的文化底蕴和自然之美。这一名字不仅反映了民宿对于传统文化的尊重与继承，也暗示了其地理位置的独特性和与自然元素的和谐共生。客房的命名借鉴了《山海经》中的奇花异草和风水宝地，这不仅增加了住宿体验的趣味性，也让每个房间都充满了故事和象征意义。住客可以根据个人喜好选择不同的房间，仿佛是在探索古籍中隐藏的奥秘。
The name of the new homestay, "Hill of Tao Tang", is inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas, which is the center of the nine hills. The center of the so-called nine hills is also the central observation point of the four channels of the Great wilderness, named after the emperor Yao Tao Tang. It contains profound cultural heritage and natural beauty. The name not only reflects the respect and inheritance of traditional culture, but also implies the uniqueness of its geographical location and harmonious symbiosis with natural elements. The rooms are named after the strange flowers and herbs in the Classic of Mountains and Seas and the treasure land of Feng shui, which not only adds interest to the stay experience, but also makes each room full of stories and symbolic meanings. Guests can choose different rooms according to their personal preferences, as if they are exploring the hidden mysteries of ancient books.
在设计布局时，建筑师对两个院子的交通流线进行了优化。庭院房北侧的巷子相较于两个院子之间的小巷更为畅通，且景观视野更佳。因此，设计师选择这条巷子作为接送游客到店的主要通道。进入酒店区域后，首先到达的是酒店大堂，这里兼具前台接待和咖啡酒吧的功能。同时，大堂也是客人分流的重要节点，从西北一侧出口沿洱海向南走，可以进入海景房小院；从东南一侧进入内庭院，则可以到达健身房、VIP茶室和餐厅。

二、室内美学
INTERIOR AESTHETICS

The restaurant is designed with local stone and dark wood finishes as its main materials. Through the opening treatment of the original space wall, a new sequence combination is formed, thus creating a sense of sequence of space. At the dining table, the height of the floor-to-ceiling Windows is deliberately lowered to allow views of the courtyard to be framed into the long rolls. The edge of the entrance is outlined by the Dali artisan's hand-hammered copper plates, which are illuminated by spotlights, and the concave and convex shapes flow with purple light. Water-patterned lighting on the main wall and the image of an old wooden boat reinterpret the sweeping sea landscape. All these designs respond to the cultural context of the region. The design attempts to combine natural texture, artisan craftsmanship and modern technology to seek a kind of inner and visual enjoyment.
客房的装饰采用了温暖的色调，米灰色的墙面与胡桃木色的木质装饰板相搭配，与洱海的蓝色形成了互补和对比。设计考虑到了场地的实际情况，因此16间客房被设计成了几种不同的类型，包括：海景套房、庭院景观家庭房、庭院景观大床房、海景露台大床房和引流房。在海景庭院中，共有9间海景套房。
The rooms are decorated in warm tones, with beige walls paired with walnut wood trim panels that complement and contrast the blue of Erhai Lake. Designed with the site in mind, the 16 rooms are designed in several different types, including: Suite with sea view, Family room with courtyard view, Queen Room with courtyard view, Queen Room with Sea view terrace and drainage room. There are 9 sea view suites in the sea view courtyard.
由于原建筑的结构限制，只能拆除部分墙体并进行结构加固。为了突出客房内温馨亲人的氛围，设计对洞口边缘进行了导圆角处理，与餐厅洞口的硬朗形成了对比。沙发和床都面向洱海，床尾处设有浴缸，大面积的落地窗消解了室内与室外的界限，将大理的阳光引入室内，让客人的心境全部打开。
