More than two years after the termination of herconservatorship, Britney Spears has finally settled a lingering dispute with her father, Jamie Spears, over legal fees.

Britney’s attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, confirmed toEntertainment Weekly that the dispute between the pair was settled in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, but noted that the settlement’s terms were confidential.

The pop star's 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. Just one month later, PEOPLE reported that Jamie, her former conservator, had filed court documents requesting that the "Stronger" singer's estate pay for his attorney fees as well as “ongoing fiduciary duties relating to the winding up of the Conservatorship of the Person and Estate.”

Their settlement means that they will avoid having to take the case to trial, which the outlet noted was set to start in May.
