Put foot in mouth 说错话
Put foot in mouth （言语)使人尴尬,冒犯别人
Foot是脚的意思，Mouth表示嘴巴，如果你把Put your foot in your mouth直译成把你的脚塞进嘴巴的话，一定会闹出笑话。
老外说I put my foot in my mouth，千万不要以为他有什么恶俗的怪癖，他只是为自己说错话而道歉，Put one s foot in one s mouth表示一个人说错话了。
说话一定要分清场合，如果你说了不该说的话，建议马上用I put my foot in my mouth向对方道歉，这样场面不会太尴尬。

My foot 我不信；得了吧
大家把My foot理解为我的脚确实没错，但my foot如果单独使用，就不能理解为我的脚了,真正的意思其实是我不敢相信。
My foot的语气很强烈，多指矛盾的感叹，通常用于事实令人震惊的情形。
例句：
I heard that they are going to have a shotgun marriage.
我听说他们要奉子成婚了。

Foot the bill 买单
Foot 结算；支付
Foot the bill 负担费用
脚是Foot最常见的用法，但foot还是动词，意思就是结算和支付。在餐厅用完餐后，叫服务员过来买单不要每次都说Have the bill了，foot the bill这个表达也很地道。
例句：
Have you had enough to eat? I will foot the bill.
你吃饱了吗？我要买单了。
Keep a foot in both camps 脚踏两只船
Camp是营地，所以Keep a foot in both camps就是说一个人脚踏两只船。
这个表达除了描述感情里的劈腿，也可以表示一个人同时跟对立的两派都有联系。大家使用这个表达时，也要分清场合。
